Demystify Your Engagement: A Transparent Approach
Wondering what happens after you pick up the phone? Good. Transparency is the whole point.
Four Phases, Zero Mystery
Every engagement — regardless of service type — follows this same disciplined structure. You'll know what's happening, when, and why at every step.
Discovery & Intake
Duration: 1–2 weeks
This is where we get to know your business — not from a questionnaire, but from a real conversation. We meet your leadership team, walk your operations (virtually or in person), and ask questions that go deeper than the surface.
What happens during Discovery:
- Initial 30-minute free call to understand your situation
- On-site or virtual operational walkthrough
- Documentation review (existing policies, contracts, processes)
- Stakeholder interviews with key team members
- Preliminary risk and gap identification
What you get at the end: A clear, written assessment of your current state — what's working, what's exposed, and what we recommend tackling first. No jargon, no 80-page report nobody reads. Usually 3–5 pages of straight talk.
Strategy & Planning
Duration: 2–4 weeks
Based on what we found in Discovery, we build the roadmap. This is where the project management methodology kicks in — scoping, timelines, resource allocation, and milestone definition.
What happens during Strategy:
- Formal project plan with scope, objectives, and success criteria
- Resource allocation model (who does what, when)
- Waterfall milestone schedule with clear deadlines
- Governance framework design (if applicable)
- Strategy presentation and approval meeting with your team
What you get at the end: A project plan you've reviewed, understood, and approved. Nothing starts until you say "go." And if you have questions about any item in the plan, we sit down and explain it — as many times as needed.
Execution & Delivery
Duration: 4–12 weeks (varies by service)
This is the doing. We produce the deliverables — continuity plans, contract review summaries, QA frameworks, performance scorecards, stakeholder engagement matrices — and review every single one with you before it's finalized.
What happens during Execution:
- Deliverable production according to the approved plan
- Weekly status meetings (30 minutes, focused, with written summaries)
- Draft-review-revise cycles for every major deliverable
- Third-party due diligence research (when applicable)
- Risk register updates and mitigation tracking
What you get at the end: Finished, polished deliverables — reviewed, revised based on your feedback, and explained in plain English. Not filed away. Actually explained.
Implementation & Follow-Through
Duration: 4–8 weeks + ongoing support
Having a plan is only half the job. This phase is what separates us from firms that deliver a PDF and disappear. We stick around to make sure the plan actually works in your business.
What happens during Implementation:
- Staff training sessions (on-site or virtual)
- Guided implementation with your internal team
- Performance scorecard tracking against baselines
- Process adjustments based on real-world feedback
- Formal close-out meeting and 90-day review call
What you get at the end: A working system — not a theoretical one. Your team knows how to use it, your metrics are being tracked, and you have a 90-day check-in on the calendar to make sure nothing's slipped.
Frequently Asked Questions
It depends on the service, but most engagements run 8–16 weeks from Discovery through Implementation. A focused contract review might wrap in 3–4 weeks, while a full business continuity plan with training typically takes 12–16 weeks. We'll give you a specific timeline during the Strategy phase — and we stick to it.
It's 30 minutes with a senior advisor (not a sales rep). We'll ask about your business, your concerns, and what prompted you to reach out. You'll walk away with a clear sense of whether we can help and what a potential engagement would look like — scope, timeline, and rough cost. No obligation, no follow-up pressure.
We quote fixed fees for defined scopes of work. No hourly billing surprises, no vague retainers. You'll see the full cost before you commit, and we don't invoice until we've delivered what we promised. For ongoing services like QA monitoring, we offer monthly or quarterly agreements with transparent pricing.
Absolutely. Our office is in Edmonton, but we serve clients throughout Alberta and into Saskatchewan and British Columbia. About 40% of our engagements are conducted primarily via video conference. For on-site work outside Edmonton, we schedule multi-day visits to minimize travel disruption and cost.
Construction and trades, food services and distribution, healthcare clinics, professional services (law firms, accounting practices), and retail operations make up the bulk of our client base. But our compliance and risk frameworks apply to any regulated or growth-stage business. If you're unsure whether we're a fit, that's exactly what the free call is for.
Both. If you just need a contract reviewed or a single QA audit, we can scope a standalone project. No pressure to sign up for anything larger. Many of our long-term relationships started with a single contract review — the client liked how we worked, and we grew from there naturally.
